A 1940s Bassett Lowke O Gauge 4-4-0 “Enterprise” No. 6285, finished in black, with tender. Originally considered the model to have set a new standard in model railway practice, the Enterprise measures 18 inches long and weighs around 1.5kg. This particular model is showing clear age-related wear to the paintwork, including some areas where the paint has stripped right back to bare metal. There is also a historic repair to the rear of the boiler as well as small dent to the top of the boiler (see photos). The model does appear to be original, with burner tray included. The model has not been steam tested for the purposes of this sale however does turn over freely when using air. It has primarily been kept as a display piece for the last few years so would certainly benefit from a service prior to testing and use.
