An unusual live steam stationary engine which has the hallmarks of being a British made proprietary engine but lacks a distinguishing mark or provenance to associate it with a particular maker. A distinctive cast engine base and large three wick burner (missing handle). The model is also missing original chimney but otherwise appears original. Cast engine frame and large piston made from aluminium. Similar models feature on pages 134 and 135 of Colin Laker’s “British Toy Steam Engines and Boats 1915-1980 Volume 5” (shown in photos).
