Ex-Museum Model of a Triple Expansion Steam Engine

Ex-Museum Model of a Triple Expansion Steam Engine

Out of Stock

A lovely ex-museum hand-operated display model of a triple expansion steam engine, used principally in steam ships and for driving factories at the turn of the nineteenth century. This model is made entirely from mahogany and oak and is a lovely finish, having been entirely scratch-built as a one-off piece. In particular, the spoked flywheel is a great example of the craftsmanship involved in making this model. The model is a little stiff to turn with some age-related wear but does demonstrate the principles of steam power in fine detail. Any questions feel free to ask.
