A very rare John Tinsley Ltd. (Darlington, 1987) DRG No. 5/11887 W. T. Horizontal Marine Boiler. John Tinsley Ltd was an engineering and mining firm which appears to have records dating back to at least 1908.
According to the plans, this Blackstaff boiler was drawn up in 1987 by a 'F.A.M.' and is at 3/4 F.S (full size). At its current stage, it is only partially built but upon completion would be the perfect accompanying boiler for a marine engine (see the RELIABLE Engine Co. Marine Engine also listed for sale). A number of plan sheets are included although it is not clear if they are complete. It is possible that this was a bespoke project and that no others are in existence.
Substantial work is still required to complete the boiler and would require a number of parts fabricating / machining. Includes end-plates as per final photo.
