An unusual German stationary engine of unknown manufacturer. The firebox bears a metal plaque which indicates the model is a “Modèle 1:40 Modell No. 1001” alongside operating specifications but there is little provenance to this. It is possible a stationary engine designed for schoolroom use or a smaller manufacturer for the collector’s market. Judging by the build I would suggest it is likely 1940s onwards. Comprises a small vertical cylinder with aluminium flywheel mounted on a wooden base. Includes original burner tray. The model runs nicely on air though has not been tested on steam.
