Approximately 3” Scale ‘Orcop Yeoman’ Portable Live Steam Engine – Believed John Haining Design.
Offered for sale is an unusual and substantial model portable steam engine, believed to have been constructed to the ‘Orcop Yeoman’ design by John Haining, a well-known model engineer and contributor to Model Engineer magazine.
The engine features a horizontal steel boiler with green cladding and brass bands, a single-cylinder engine mounted above the boiler, a large spoked flywheel, tall chimney and four steel wheels. Various brass fittings, pipework and boiler-mounted components are also fitted.
The engine has been bench-tested on compressed air and runs well.
The model is fitted with a welded steel boiler. Unfortunately, no boiler documentation, hydraulic test certificate or current steam test certificate is included.
The model shows signs of age, use and general cosmetic wear, including some deterioration to the paintwork and surface corrosion to the wheel rims, but is generally well-kept.
Please study the photographs carefully for an accurate indication of its overall condition.
Dimensions: Length - 80cm, Width - 35cm, Height - 109cm (inc. chimney). Boiler Di. 18.5cm.
