One of only 30 models produced by Maxitrak in the style of a Case 80hp traction engine in 1 inch scale.
It has a single cylinder mounted on a cast frame, and a constant mesh gear drive with a clutch mechanism built into the flywheel. There is full spring suspension on the rear axle with the gears kept in alignment by a swing link system.
The model is gas fired with twin flue burners, and superheater. It comes complete with the dome, feed water heater and governor as detailing.
This model was produced as ready-to-run only and not in kit form.
This particular model has some use-wear, including cracking rubber tyres, a loose pressure gauge (a screw stopper has replaced it in the boiler) and two further loose parts which require re-gluing (shown in photos). Includes two certificates (boiler test and gas tank test) and original construction manual. No box or wooden platform (as supplied new) is included.
Overall, a rare Maxitrak model which has great collector’s value. With some minor cosmetic repairs and re-fitting of the pressure gauge, the model will make for a superb show-piece and display scale traction engine.
